Outfall

Altona outfall accommodates one wastewater treatment plant (Altona) and serves the area of Altona, Altona Meadows, Laverton, and Point Cook. Approximately 16 ML treated effluent is reused (45%) for irrigating Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club, Kooringal Golf Club, and Altona Green Park while the rest is discharge to Port Phillip Bay. The mixing zone extends for a 100 metre radius in Port Phillip Bay from the licensed discharge point.
