Outfall

Belmont outfall is managed by Hunter Water which accommodates four wastewater treatment plants (Belmont, Edgeworth, Toronto, and Dora Creek) and serves the areas of the eastern side of Lake Macquarie from Charlestown and Redhead in the North, to Swansea in the South. Approximately 30 ML of treated effluent is discharged to the Pacific Ocean via 1.5 km ocean outfall which consists of 112 diffusers.
