Bowen ocean outfall accommodates one wastewater treatment plant (Bowen), which serves the area of Bowen. Approximately 770 KL of 1.8 ML treated effluent is discharged daily to the Pacific Ocean 100 m seaward of a point 800 m south-east of the plant at Flagstaff HIll Point, while the rest is being reused for golf club irrigation.
