Ludmilla
Outfall

East Point outfall accommodates one wastewater treatment plant (Ludmilla) which serves the area of Darwin CBD, and the inner suburbs from Larrakeyah to Coconut Grove and Winnellie. Approximately 14 ML of treated effluent is discharged daily into Darwin Harbour via 500 m outfall pipeline. Currently, the outfall is being upgraded by duplicating the existing rising main that transports flow from the Ludmilla wastewater treatment plant to the East Point outfall and extending the outfall further out to the sea to take better advantage of strong currents and tidal movements.
